(Word count to follow once I'm not paying through the nose for airport internet.)

DAY NINE: word-count post!

Only 1071 words this time, Spartans! We can do better than that! Sadly, your mods aren't leading with good examples right now, what with being busy traveling half-way around the world. Only two days to go, though! Let's try and go out on a blaze of glory!

DAY SEVEN: word-count post

1877 WORDS? WHAT IS THIS, SPARTA? DO YOU THINK YOU CAN JUST SLACK OFF HERE? DOES THIS LOOK LIKE A COMMUNITY OF SLACKERS TO YOU? IS IT CALLED "WE-WRITE-ON-FLUFFY-PINK-CLOUDS-WHEN-WE-FEEL-LIKE-IT"?

LAZINESS WILL NOT BE EXCUSED! THIS IS SPARTA, AND TONIGHT WE WRITE IN HELL!

PS: That goes for the mods, too, those lazy, irresponsible bastards.

DAY SIX: Word-count Post

3,424? YOU CAN DO BETTER THAN THAT, SPARTA. But your fearless leader knows that yes, it's the weekend. You shall be forgiven. As long as you write lots and lots and lots today. Or, well, 1,000 words. Can you do that, Sparta? WELL, YOU CAN DEFINITELY TRY.

DAY FOUR AND FIVE: Word-count post!

The enemy came, burned my house down, seduced my kittens, and stole my internet. The entire internet. So I could not possibly make a post yesterday. No really, that's what happened!

Spartans, I hope you have not been remiss in your duty while your brave and fearless leaders were otherwise engaged. Today we've reached the halfway mark of our glorious campaign, and you can all celebrate it by posting double the word count! Report on day four and five, go!

3891 words were written on day three. I know you can do better than that! Only five days to go. Make us proud!

DAY THREE: Word-count post!

SPARTANS! I AM PROUD OF YOU! 7153 words were contributed to the good cause yesterday. It is an honor to be writing alongside such hard-working warriors! Keep up the good work! IF ANYONE CAN DO IT, WE CAN!

DAY TWO: word-count post

This Spartan campaign has seen a glorious first day, with 7684 words contributed by brave Spartan warriors. GO SPARTA.

One Spartan leader also trundled off and did something involving putting bits of video footage onto a time line and smashing it together and trying to make it look impressive. Sparta is a bit skeptic; on the other hand, impressive-looking things are always approved by Spartan ranks. This Spartan leader hopes Sparta will let her get on with doing this instead of writing.

IT IS ANOTHER DAY, THOUGH, SPARTANS. Another day, another 1,000 words. How's it looking, Spartans? Who's got something written already? REPORT BACK WITH YOUR GLORIOUS TALES OF SUCCESS.

ETA: OH RIGHT YES. The one sentence rule (. . . if you manage to write words for each day, you should also include a sentence from that writing in your tag. Any sentence, as out of context as you please.) still applies. You don't have to include a sentence in your comment, but it could be fun!

NEW SPARTAN LEADER

SPARTANS.

This is your other mod. The one that cowardly deserted you in the middle of a campaign. SHE IS SORRY, SO SORRY. She doesn't have a good excuse, either. Feel free to throw rotten tomatoes and other vegetables. *bows head in shame*

BUT ENOUGH ABOUT ME. We have a new Spartan leader. Behold neery, a mostly naked Spartan with a giant spear who came to challenge our city state by ways of a SURPRISE MARATHON CAMPAIGN. We're starting on Monday, August 24, and this time, we won't be writing 500 words a day. No, Sparta. neery wants twice as much--but only for ten days.

Ten days, 1,000 words, starting Monday. Are you in or out, Spartan?
